Manila Killa & AOBeats Take Over The Drop

Two of dance music’s rising stars Manila Killa (1/2 of Hotel Garuda) and AOBeats took over The Drop last week as the featured guest mixers. Together, they restored my faith in electronic dance music’s future.

Let’s talk about the instant goosebumps and the “holy shit, hot damn” they hit us in the face with in the first two minutes with their fucking incredible remix of Toxic from Britney Spears. Just when I thought I couldn’t handle another diva, Hunt for the Breeze’s banging remix of Beyonce’s Drunk in Love comes on. Less than four minutes in, and I knew I needed to buckle my seat belt for this one.

The rest of the mix is a refreshing taste of the future of dance music and those artists who aren’t afraid to push the envelope. This was also Manila Killa and AOBeats’ chance to show us what’s up, and that’s exactly what they did. This is only the beginning for these two, and we can’t wait to hear what they throw at us next.

The entire episode of last week’s The Drop is superb, but for those who are impatient and want to hear this mix ASAP, just skip ahead to 1:14:20. Check it out below!
