Surkin: Advanced Entertainment System EP [Marble]
The French are good at two things: making awesome music, and making more awesome music.
Surkin and his new EP Advanced Entertainment System is definitely not an exception.
This five-track serving of music has enough variety to quench your three-course appetite; appetizer, entree and dessert included.
Right off the bat, you are served “Boot Screen,” the appetizer. It serves to both introduce you to the release, and make you wonder if you’re in a computer or not. “Oedo 606′s” broken beats and melodic notes, “Tiger Rhythms’s” in-your-face dark undertone and “Stronger’s (feat. Canblaster)” semi-hardstyle fat and sexy kick serve as the entree.

Full yet? Sorry, Surkin isn’t done yet. There is still dessert! And who the hell doesn’t love dessert?! (rhetorical question). “Lakeside’s” sweet melody and clean piano segment ease you into relaxation, but not before “Warehouse” finishes you off and makes you wonder if that food baby you just ate is going to cause problems in the bathroom later tonight.
As for me? I’ll take seconds.
