Salvador Dali is one of the greatest artists to ever exist. The absolute King of Surrealism, he’s actually my personal favorite. If you live in Florida or anywhere near it and haven’t been to the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, I don’t know what the fuck you’re doing with your life.

I’ve been studying Dali’s work since I turned 12, but even I didn’t know he produced a series of published illustrations for a special edition of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice and Wonderland. And I’ve been reading that book since I was six! Imagine how cool I’d be if I had that fed into my little mind.

These images (via William Bennett Gallery) are from the #rare 1965 edition, published by Maecenas Press-Random House. There is one for each of the story’s chapters, and we’re talking the real story, not the Disney mishmash. The front piece came with an artist signature. If you’ve got one of these, you’re one lucky motherfucker.

But at least we can all enjoy with our eyes!
