Amtrac – The Scheme EP

If you follow FWP, you know we have a special thing going on with Amtrac. The super-talented producer never ceases to amaze us with his genre-hopping style and incredibly consistent output. He seems to release something fresh and unique every couple of months, whether it be a sample-based disco journey, a multi-genre full-length album, or a beautiful soundscape EP, like this one.

The Scheme is a four-track, roughly 20-minute collection perfect for these last days of winter as we cuddle together and get excited about brighter days to come. It opens with “All Night,” a track that seems to encapsulate the looking-ahead and moving forward mentality. Put this on repeat, and you will dance until the sun rises.

Second track “Preacher” keeps the momentum going with a bit of edge. Our upward motion is now in full swing and the Kentucky-based producer’s “scheme” is coming together quite devilishly. Big ups minute nine for one funky-ass groove.

“The Scheme” brings everything to a great climax. The initial rising action leads into one deep, bassy, layered orgasm. Some tight vocal samples add a high dose of attitude to the beat that kind of sits back and smokes a cigarette like some mysterious badass.

And coming in for the finish is “So High,” a closer that brings us back down to Earth but leaves a pep in our step. Spring is just around the corner, love with it, and Amtrac’s musicality is looking bright on the horizon.
We already can’t wait for more from this superstar. ‘Til then, check him out on facebook, twitter and soundcloud.
