The Top 5 Songs Of Holy Ship 2013!!

The Fresh Wet Paint crew went on a most epic adventure last weekend with an amazing lineup of DJs from the likes of Justice, A-Trak, Boys Noize, Digitalism, Claude Vonstroke and many more. With several stages and dancefloors throughout the cruise ship, there was plenty of variety when it came to what the DJs were blasting out of the speakers. Here are my top 5 tunes played this weekend.

5. Mark Starr – Rood Boy [Forthcoming on Dirtybird]

No one really does it like the Dirtybird crew does. The head-honcho of the iconic label Claude Vonstroke played this dirty tune on the first night at the disco (light up dancefloor included!) to a crowd that was taking in all the sexy jams. Hell, even Skrillex was in the DJ booth jamming to this.

4. Oliver – MYB [Forthcoming on Fool's Gold]
This funky, disco gem was played by Justice on the first night. It was the perfect track selection to smoothen the crowd out after raging to Boys Noize and switch the crowd into full groove mode.

3. D.I.M. & Tai – Lyposuct [Boysnoize Records]
I’m a sucker for surprises, and I’m also a sucker for throwbacks. Tommy Trash did both at the same time Sunday night when he dropped this classic out of nowhere. Yes, it’s only 4 years old, but in the world of electronic music, time moves friggin fast.

2. Boys Noize – Ich R U (Jacques Lu Cont Remix) [Forthcoming on Boysnoize Records]
Both A-Trak and Boize Noize played this monster on the first day. And even though their sets were right after another, this track banged so hard that no one minded hearing it again so soon.

1. Hudson Mohawke – Thunder Bay [Warp Records]
The amazing weekend was topped off with a huge surprise hip-hop/trap stage at the ship’s theater. I got to the stage to a packed crowd going absolutely crazy. But where I was expecting to see someone like Baauer or RL Grime, I saw none other than Brodinski throwing down this monster tune and setting the crowd ablaze in energy.

Fuck, is it Holy Ship 2014 yet?
