This Friday In Gainesville: Mark Starr And Taylor Shockley

Fresh Wet Paint Presents: Tin Foil Hats

Gainesville! Come help us fight off the lames!

Friday, we welcome Tallahassee’s Mark Starr and Taylor Shockley to our monthly Fresh Wet Paint Presents series at Spannk. This party is going to have a ton of ghetto-techy, smooth jams, so these two will fit right in. Mark and Taylor, in case you don’t know, recently started a new weekly in Tallahasee’s Side Bar (formally The Engine Room) called Gonzo. They play all sorts of underground tunes, educating the masses one Saturday at a time, and we couldn’t be more happy to have them!

Yo, check out this dope lil piece our friends at Noise You Should Hear put together about the event.

Taylor will be taking to the decks after I’m done warming up the crowd. His track selection has always impressed me, particularly his techno. He made a promo mixtape to promote Gonzo, which should give you an idea of what to expect.

Mark Starr will be headlining the night. Having produced some real fucking gems as of late. He recently got recognition from the head honcho of dirtybird himself: Claude VonStroke. His productions are too sexy not to dance to, so make sure you wear you’re party pants. Expect to hear some tunes you have never heard before. You’re gonna get an education in the underground, but  he’s also likely to play some choice unreleased goodies!

Of course, no Fresh Wet Paint party is complete without a funky-ass theme. This month, we’re warding off posuers everywhere with Tin Foil Hats! The best name in the game to protect your brain from lame.

Come in a tin foil hat of your own creation and get $2 off the $5 cover price. The crazier the hat, the better!

And as always, your friendly bartenders are serving up $1 PBRs and $2.25 well drinks all night long.

Twerk it.
