Disasterland: Disney Goes Hard
Mexican artist Rodolfo Loaiza has taken your favorite childhood princesses and turned them into 21st Century party sluts.
“Disasterland” is a series of oil and acrylic paintings posing the question, “What would happen if Cinderella were a famous royal today? Would the Little Mermaid go dyke after a few drinks? Who among the pure of heart could stand the temptations of Hollywood’s most dastardly delights?”
The result is a playful, debaucherous and totally hysterical re-imagining of the famous females, and quite a bit of recent pop culture is peppered in, to remind us of ourselves. Which reality is more ridiculous?
Catch the paintings on display now through Sept. 2 at La Luz de Jesus Gallery, 4633 Hollywood Blvd., LA, California. Or check them out here, and see the full collection online. Yep, you can buy this shit, too.
