Doodling Increases Comprehension

DoodlesIt’s a lazy Sunday afternoon, but we wanna bring you something fun. How about an excuse to thumb your nose at that mean, old professor who always yells at you for drawing in class?

Turns out, doodling actually helps a person understand and retain information. As author, business owner and big-thinker Sunni Brown explains in this short TED talk, doodling works because it engages all four modalities of learning (visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic), so while you have your nose down and your pen working, that information is soaking into your brain like a sponge.

So let’s rejoice, all you fellow doodlers. What we’re doing is natural, so Brown says, and it’s keeping us ahead of the game.
