I want a Roomba Vacuum Cleaner. As someone who staunchly embraces the Jetson’s idea of the future, a robot cleaning my room just seems sensible to me. I am also the guy who thinks he is pretty sharp because he can take a long-exposure photograph of dubstep kids playing with LED gloves. So when I saw that some people from the German IBR algorithm group were strapping LED lights to Roombas and taking long exposure photographs, I was all in.
Turns out there are quite a few people doing this all over the globe. Each one seems to have their own style and ideas explored. From accelerometer-driven LED lights that change color based on the speed of the Roomba, to blocking off areas of the floor with boxes to leave a negative space of darkness, experimentation seems to be the norm. Not sure about you, but I can get into a future where robots create and we just watch.
