Introducing: Sammy Bananas

Sammy Bananas

I first had the pleasure of seeing Sammy Bananas perform during Miami Music Week this year in the Fool’s Gold Showcase at Grand Central in Downtown Miami. I had left Ultra early to go to it, and saying I was glad I did would be a massive understatement.

By the end of his set, he went from just another producer/DJ I’d never heard of, to one of the producer/DJs I respect the most. He threw down one of the funkiest sets I have ever heard, all while sporting what I think were khakis and a tucked in short-sleeve button down. The fact that he has a faint resemblance to Kip form Napoleon Dynamite makes his stage appearance all the better. If his hour long set of straight dance tunes wasn’t enough, his productions, which I later looked up, are just as amazing.

Top picks:

TiTan – Rodeo (Sammy Bananas Remix)

Smalltown Romeo – Boom Ha (Sammy Bananas Remix)

Sammy Bananas – Move Your Body

As always, be sure to check out more of his tunes on Beatport and his SoundCloud!
