Hangout Music Fest 2011 Preview

Hangout Music Fest 2011 posterWet Paint is gearin’ up for a massive festival season and we’re proud to say we’ll be blasting off to this year’s second-annual Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Ala.

If you don’t know, this is a three-day event on the beach taking place May 20-22. That’s right, a music festival on the beach. Not even Ultra Fest can boast that kind of beauty anymore. We’re pretty stoked to soak up the rays and salty air while getting down to the rockin’ sounds of bands like the Flaming Lips, the Black Keys, Cee-lo Green and Primus.

We can’t wait to dance on white sand to acts like Girl Talk, Bassnectar and the sure-to-be-sick-as-fuck joint set from Pretty Lights and Big Gigantic.

I’m also looking forward to seeing legendary Paul Simon throw down. I get the feeling he’s the kind of aging rock start that doesn’t turn to totally useless pudding and can still bring it. We will certainly let you know.

But seriously, it’s not too late if you want to join us. Tickets are on sale now, with 3-day passes going at $174, and that’s not too bad for three days of fun and sun and musical wonderment. But if you can’t make it, stay tuned here, grab yourself a pina colada and sit under a heat lamp. We’ll bring the magic to you. Promise.

Check out the Hangout web site for a complete line-up and schedule.
