Erika “iri5″ Simmons’ Ghost In The Machine

Jimmy Hendrix

Atlanta-based artist Erika Iris Simmons (aka iri5) has found new uses for cassette and VHS tapes. Her artwork recreates iconic images using found and donated materials, and breathes life into an otherwise dead medium.

These arrangements of rock stars rendered in tape  are from Simmons “Ghost in the Machine” collection. Look, Michael’s here, and this is the first time I’ve ever enjoyed a Lenny Kravitz album.

Just imagine the number of hours to create these images. The attention to details is incredible. I imagine there is a lot of careful scrutinizing to make the film behave the way she wants it to. Simmons is also available for contracting any art projects using her unique style. Hit her up for a totally fresh way to promote your shit.
